Hey Doula! This post is very mindful of the season and its potential wellness mishaps - thank you! Great and simple advice we can all use in dealing with the colds and the flus out this year. I particularly like your reminder to be thoughtful around using fresh herbs on a daily basis, things like ginger and garlic - especially the convenient recipe for tea!

Being a devout neti-potter and lover of a good saline nasal rinse, I was delighted to learn above the information about viruses hanging out in your nasal passages 1-2 days BEFORE symptoms! Keep it rinsing! I had not known that about viruses and the stages in getting ill. (One learns something each day, yay.)

Great post, we all need to deal with this Bridge business, regardless of our profession! I think it's also a good reminder of the singleness of the Bay Area itself, and how San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Marin, the Peninsula, and the other areas are really one unit, economically and socio-culturally. Numbers one and five above resonate very much with me! It would be great if they could lift the tolls on the other Bay Area bridges during this time, in order that the traffic that's now clogging those bridges be somewhat alleviated.

I couldn't have hoped for a more comforting, reassuring, and sweet doula to be part of our birth. Beth has a deep knowledge base and an easy way of relaying information that I found very calming and grounding. She was a priceless advocate at my hospital birth, and she seemed to know what my family and I needed before we realized it ourselves. Her commitment and love for her work is clear and really allowed my partner and I to relax and be confident that we'd be taken care of. Thank you, Beth!
